Born in Ankara in 1957, Tuğcu graduated from the Metallurgical
Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University
(METU). He moved to Istanbul to pursue a professional career
and worked for six years in the international trade department
of Alarko Holding.
In 1991, he founded his own company
specializing in gas systems, which went on to become
one of the leading firms in the field.
Tuğcu’s journey into the arts began in 1996 under the
mentorship of renowned artist Şermin Güner. Guided by her
expertise, he began working in painting and later participated
in three exhibitions held in Ankara and Istanbul with his own
works, starting in 2000. Initially focusing on oil painting with
an impressionist approach, Tuğcu later expanded his artistic
expression through abstract compositions using fluid acrylic
techniques.
